JEWELLERY CARE & RESPONSIBILITY


All jewellery is securely fitted and checked by your piercer before you leave the studio. You will be advised at your appointment that jewellery can naturally loosen over time and should be checked and tightened regularly.

Once you leave the studio, it is your responsibility to regularly check that your jewellery remains secure. We cannot accept responsibility for jewellery that becomes loose or is lost after your appointment.

Healing times vary depending on the piercing location and individual’s body, but these averages can help set expectations:

  • Lobe:
    8–10 weeks typical healing time (but keep earrings in for longer to prevent closure)  
  • Cartilage (helix, conch, daith, etc.):
    3–12 months depending on placement  

Remember — these times are guidelines. Everyone heals differently, and cartilage piercings generally take much longer to fully mature compared with softer tissue (like lobes). 

Proper after-care is key to reducing irritation, infection, and speeding up healing. We include full after-care guidance with every piercing, and as a quick reference:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing — this significantly reduces infection risk.  
  • Clean twice daily using a sterile saline solution — this gently removes debris and supports healing.  
  • Avoid alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or harsh soaps — these can dry and irritate healing tissue.  

💍Jewellery Tips

  • Leave jewellery in at all times during healing — piercings can close fast if jewellery is removed early.  
  • Do not twist or turn jewellery — this can irritate tissue or prolong healing.  
  • Downsize only after initial swelling has gone down, usually after several weeks (talk with your piercer first).

  • Don’t touch your piercing unnecessarily — even with clean hands.  
  • Avoid swimming in pools, lakes or hot tubs during early healing — water exposure increases infection risk.
